Travel YouTuber in Espionage Storm
Hisar’s Jyoti Malhotra Accused of Leaking Secrets to Pakistan
Jyoti Malhotra, a well-known travel vlogger from Hisar, is now behind bars after police claimed she sent confidential Indian data to Pakistani intelligence.
Running the popular channel “Travel with Jo” and backed by 377 k subscribers, Malhotra allegedly used her online fame as cover for a much darker mission.
Officers have booked her under the Official Secrets Act (1923) and Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita; after confessing, she was placed in five-day remand and her file moved to the Economic Offences Wing.
The FIR states she befriended Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish at the Pakistan High Commission in 2023, who then linked her with multiple intelligence agents via encrypted chats.
Investigators say she belonged to a wider spy web across Haryana and Punjab, traveled abroad with handlers, and stored their numbers under aliases like “Jatt Randhawa” to stay invisible.
Her glossy videos reportedly doubled as an influence campaign, projecting Pakistan in cheery hues while hiding her real agenda.
The detention lands amid rising India-Pakistan friction following April’s Pahalgam massacre, which New Delhi blames on Islamabad-backed militants—sparking India’s retaliatory “Operation Sindoor.”
