The United States has issued a travel advisory for its citizens planning to visit Jammu and Kashmir after the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

        Following a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam that claimed the lives of 28 civilians, India announced a substantial deterioration in diplomatic relations with Pakistan. The Cabinet Committee on Security, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, gathered in New Delhi to finalize a set of countermeasures targeting Islamabad's purported connections to the attack.

         According to Misri, India has opted to suspend the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty until Pakistan credibly renounces its support for cross-border terrorism. The Integrated Check Post at Attari, the sole active land crossing between the two nations, will be closed immediately. However, individuals who have already entered India with valid endorsements will be permitted to return via Attari until May 1.

            In addition, the SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme will no longer apply to Pakistani nationals traveling to India. Visas issued under this scheme have been canceled.
